The Egyptian Union for Educational Policies and Research participates in the 12th Scientific Conference of Ain Shams University 2024 at the invitation of the Women’s Support and Anti-Violence Unit to present a working paper on the role of civil society organizations in the technological empowerment of women. Ms. Wessam Al-Sharif pointed out in the submitted working paper the importance of understanding the term digital divide and including its social and economic implications when planning for technological empowerment and studying all factors affecting optimal investment in technology for the benefit of women. The paper also raised a set of questions about the nature of the gaps that hinder and impede women’s enjoyment of appropriate capabilities, equal employment opportunities, and increasing participation in the workforce in the public and private sectors and expanding the scope of their economic participation?? The responsibility of all stakeholders for the current situation of women’s unsafe use of technology. The paper concluded with a set of recommendations as follows:

 # The importance of studying and addressing the challenges that hinder women’s economic participation, whether legal, social, or institutional. 

# Expanding the provision of support services to working Egyptian women and providing a safe work environment free from all practices of violence and discrimination and ratifying Convention 190 to ensure a work environment free from all forms of violence and harassment.

 # Adopting and encouraging public and private business institutions to provide a women-friendly work environment. 

# Eliminating discrimination against women in providing job opportunities.

 # Providing training and capacity building programs for women, especially marginalized women.

 # Promoting the culture of entrepreneurship and self-employment for women.

 # Access to information and communications technology. # Integrating digital capacity building programs targeting women into vocational training programs. 

# Expanding and generalizing initiatives that transform women’s social capital into financial inclusion to achieve comprehensive economic growth by supporting and providing innovative technologies, digital solutions, and enabling policies to integrate women into value chains.

 The prestigious Ain Shams University honored Mrs. Wesam Al-Shreif  among a group of experts, influencers and partners with the Women Support and Anti-Violence Unit in appreciation of their efforts to enhance work on the file of combating violence against women in partnership with Ain Shams University.
