Egyptian Coalition for Education
About the coalition
The Egyptian Coalition for Education launched in March 2009 as a network of independent and non-profit organizations and Egyptian personalities interested in reforming the education process in Egypt and developing its programs and uniting and mobilizing civil society efforts to ensure the achievement of the fourth goal of the sustainable development goals (SDG). The coalition works under the umbrella of the Arab campaign for education under the slogan ” Education for All “and has a formal membership in the global Campaign for Education for All.
Coalition activities are carried out within the framework of a regional and international approach to contribute to the promotion of education as a basic human right, and to mobilize all efforts to ensure compulsory, free, and quality basic education for all people, especially children and girls, the poorest groups and persons with disabilities.
The coalition annually participates at implementation of national activities to support the educational movement and support one of the education issues targeted by the global campaign for education through the activities of the Global Action Week for Education in order to contribute to building a national educational movement centered on building human
Coalition’s Main programs
Since its establishment in 2009, the coalition has focused on three main programs:
– Defending the right to education
– Civil education and democratic citizenship
– Promote educational initiatives and produce knowledge and educational literature
The three programs are implemented through the human rights-based approach, using advocacy mechanisms and lobbying as a key tool to achieve the goals and objectives that have been set for implementation in scientific and participatory ways.

We dream of a society in which everyone has the right to a good education, participatory, and supportive of the civil society movement for education, maintains self-confidence, and as an active partner in making public policies and decisions, and holds relationships and an influential presence at the national, regional, and international levels
Our mission:
We seek to maximize the participation of the Egyptian civil society and its impact in the process of building and developing the educational system in line with the goals, strategies and standards of sustainable development and constitutional principles that protect and guarantee the rights and needs of all parties by building the capacities of civil society organizations and uniting its efforts, producing visions and alternatives to develop public policies and promote the culture and practices of participation Effective societal accountability and support for the dialogue and community mechanism based on trust, respect and mutual appreciation
Our References
The Egyptian Coalition for Education is committed to the United Nations sustainable development goals and considers it the basis for all its interventions and programs. With a focus on the fourth goal of education to ensure quality education that is equitable and inclusive for all and to enhance opportunities for lifelong learning for all, as it is a goal that is closely related to all other goals and helps to achieve them. The fifth goal for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls, the sixteenth goal for justice and peace and strong institutions and the seventeenth goal for effective partnerships
It also adheres to Egypt 2030 vision of teaching in the field of education and vocational training with high quality, and within the framework of a good and fair institutional system.
Membership
The Egyptians coalition has the accession of a selection of organizations concerned with the education file (35 NGOs) characterized by diversity in terms of areas of interest, work methodologies and network of relationships, and we all intersect in our interest in education and work to develop a comprehensive system for it, each according to the data and programs in his organization and according to the list of priority issues of his organization
We welcome the serious civil society organizations and independent experts joining the coalition membership to unify and mobilize the sincere efforts of civil society organizations to build a national educational movement centered on building people
